The Youth & Family Center has a beautiful, up-to-date, Computer Center that is used during the day for ladies to further their education or learn special computer skills.
By using a software package that was specifically written for our type of outreach ministry, our trained staff is able to work with the ladies on an individual basis to assess their educational needs and assist them through a series of classes and programs that will increase their knowledge and skills in the areas of math, history and grammar.
Through the Learning Center we have the ability to work with someone who may be totally illiterate and teach them to read and write, to give someone the opportunity to build their skills in a particular area to prepare for a better job, or to help someone complete high school by studying to take the G.E.D. test.
The Computer Center also allows us to offer specialized classes for the ladies to learn to use a computer. Most of the students have never touched a computer before coming to class! The classes start by introducing the ladies to the hardware, then teaching them the basic skills needed to use the computers. They are then able to hone their keyboarding skills and learn to use many different software packages.
