The after school hours of 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. are the most dangerous times on the streets of the inner city. Many children roam the crime-ridden neighborhoods with nothing to do and nowhere to go.
Sunshine Ministries’ After School Program provides a safe, caring place for elementary school age kids to escape the streets and take part in fun and wholesome activities.
After enjoying a quick snack, the children can “get the after school wiggles out” with active play in the gym. They can also play board games, challenge each other in the arcade or play a game of pool, ping pong or air hockey. And there’s always someone to help with homework or just sit and offer a listening ear.
Our caring staff members are trained to help the children build healthy relationships and to encourage good behavior. Each afternoon also includes a short lesson time to learn more about God’s word and how to apply it to their lives.
