Family Ministry
Sunshine Youth & Family Center, a division of Sunshine Ministries, serves families who are living at the poverty level. Most live in the government housing projects that surround the Mission. Their living conditions are often deplorable and they are constantly at risk of becoming homeless.
Most of the households are led by a single mom or grandmother who is struggling to find ways to provide for her family and still be able to care for her children when they need her. The children are often left on their own and expected to care for themselves and their siblings.
The Youth and Family Outreach Programs are developed to help the entire family by assisting not only with their physical needs, but also their social, emotional and spiritual needs.
These programs include:

A
C.A.R.E. Program to help with food and household needs,

An adult
Learning Center for education and training that will prepare
a person for a better job,
Life skill classes to equip them for life’s challenges,

Bible studies to encourage them and give them hope for a
brighter future,

Creative arts classes for them to explore their God-given talents and
allow for a more fulfilling life,

Holiday food basket giveaways to allow each family to serve a
complete holiday meal in their own home,

And many special dinners and holiday events to bring some joy and
celebration into their lives.
