Sunshine Ministries offers a free, all-day Playschool Program for preschool age children. We have found that many of the children we serve start school totally unprepared. They have never experienced the joy of learning and discovering the world around us.
The Sunshine Playschool provides a caring, loving environment for the children to feel safe and receive personal attention while they receive age-appropriate reading and cognitive skills training to prepare their minds for life-long learning.
Each day is filled with games, crafts, dress-up and pretend play. The children learn to love books and discover new things with a special science project every month. The computer center is equipped with special educational preschool software. Even lunch time is a learning experience as they are taught to use good manners and eat healthy food.
The staff also shares God’s love through Bible lessons that teach the children how special they are to Him and help them discover their God-given potential.
The children also are taken on frequent field trips to the zoo, Grant’s Farm, the City Museum and other interesting St. Louis locations.
