Sunshine Ministries’ Resident Program is a 13-month program of education, counseling, spiritual development and practical work experience. Our goal is to help men overcome alcohol and/or drug addiction and transition into a productive, God-honoring lifestyle.
The program includes:
A self-paced adult education program that allows the men to improve
their reading, writing and math skills or prepare to take the GED test,
Behavioral, spiritual and personal counseling,
Life-skills classes that teach basic skills for independent living,
A Christian 12-Step program,
Daily work details that train the men to have a good work ethic,
Computer literacy training,
Career Employment Services which includes testing, classes
and personal tutoring that equips students to find and keep a job, and
Spiritual development activities such as Bible studies and church
participation.
Liborius House
Liborius, the residence of the men in the Resident Program, is on the St. Louis Historical Registry. It once was the rectory for the St. Liborius Church. Today, the men enjoy the beautiful stained glass windows and exquisite woodwork of this beautiful old home.
