CAROL CLARKSON
President/CEO
After years of working side-by-side in business, Carol and her husband, Jim, assumed the leadership of Sunshine Ministries in 1995. Although Jim’s health forced him to retire in 2014, Carol continues to serve as the ministry’s CEO.
Beyond her administrative duties, Carol especially enjoys working directly with the people that Sunshine serves and dreaming up new and fun activities to bring joy and happiness into their lives. Working at Sunshine gives her plenty of opportunities to exercise her passion for helping others discover and use their God-given gifts and talents to find purpose and fulfillment in life.
As a very proud mom and “Mama” to two daughters and four wonderful grandkids, Carol loves spending time with her family.

TRAVIS MARTIN
Executive Director
After more than 20 years in financial services, Travis felt called to work in Christian social services. He moved to St. Louis following his firm’s acquisition of a local broker-dealer and has proudly called the city home since 2009.
Originally from Virginia, Travis is a military veteran and holds a degree in Economics. He serves as an Elder, Usher, and Children’s Sunday School Leader at his church in Clayton.
Travis and his wife, Natalie, have two daughters and reside in Sunset Hills. He enjoys golfing and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. At Sunshine, Travis is grateful to live out his faith daily and is committed to the ministry’s growth and impact in the St. Louis region.

CHRIS CHAPMAN
Director of Operations
After working in vocational ministry for over 25 years, Chris brings a wealth of experience in leadership, pastoral care, and team building. His transition to Sunshine Ministries reflects a continued calling to serve others and help advance Christ-centered initiatives that transform lives. He is committed to leading with integrity, humility, and a deep conviction to help facilitate a culture of healing, help, and hope. Chris is passionate about servant leadership and empowering others to flourish in their God-given calling.
Chris treasures spending time with his wife, their children, and their children's spouses. He is deeply grateful for the relationship God has blessed him with and values every opportunity to encourage, laugh with, and create lasting memories with those he loves most.

BRYAN POLK
Associate Director
Bryan’s association with Sunshine Ministries began in 1997 when he entered the Recovery Program for help to overcome his alcohol addiction. While in the program, he honed his culinary skills and got a great job at a prestigious hotel.
With a heart and a passion to “pay it forward” and help others overcome their addictions, Bryan returned to Sunshine in 1998 to serve the shelter guests. Although he still likes to keep his hands in the kitchen, his compassion for others and his leadership skills have taken him into his current role of Associate Director.
In his free time, Bryan enjoys spending time with his wife, watching a good movie, bowling and serving at his church.
