TRAVIS MARTIN
Executive Director
After more than 20 years in financial services, Travis felt called to work in Christian social services. He moved to St. Louis following his firm’s acquisition of a local broker-dealer and has proudly called the city home since 2009.
Originally from Virginia, Travis is a military veteran and holds a degree in Economics. He serves as an Elder, Usher, and Children’s Sunday School Leader at his church in Clayton.
Travis and his wife, Natalie, have two daughters and reside in Sunset Hills. He enjoys golfing and cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals. At Sunshine, Travis is grateful to live out his faith daily and is committed to the ministry’s growth and impact in the St. Louis region.

CHRIS CHAPMAN
Director of Operations
After working in vocational ministry for over 25 years, Chris brings a wealth of experience in leadership, pastoral care, and team building. His transition to Sunshine Ministries reflects a continued calling to serve others and help advance Christ-centered initiatives that transform lives. He is committed to leading with integrity, humility, and a deep conviction to help facilitate a culture of healing, help, and hope. Chris is passionate about servant leadership and empowering others to flourish in their God-given calling.
Chris treasures spending time with his wife, their children, and their children's spouses. He is deeply grateful for the relationship God has blessed him with and values every opportunity to encourage, laugh with, and create lasting memories with those he loves most.

JUANITA POLK
Youth Ministry Director
Serving others has been a passion of Juanita's for over 25 years. Before joining Sunshine Ministries, she served in the area of Human Services as a Residential Director of several group homes, as well as a Lead Foster Care Case Manager for children in the foster care system. Throughout her tenure in this field, she has held several leadership positions while also starting her own nonprofit organization serving women in the community.
Juanita loves spending time with her husband, reading, hiking, and spending time with her family, which is one of the greatest gifts God has ever given her.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust."'

BRYAN POLK
Associate Director
Bryan’s association with Sunshine Ministries began in 1997 when he entered the Recovery Program for help to overcome his alcohol addiction. While in the program, he honed his culinary skills and got a great job at a prestigious hotel.
With a heart and a passion to “pay it forward” and help others overcome their addictions, Bryan returned to Sunshine in 1998 to serve the shelter guests. Although he still likes to keep his hands in the kitchen, his compassion for others and his leadership skills have taken him into his current role of Associate Director.
In his free time, Bryan enjoys spending time with his wife, watching a good movie, bowling and serving at his church.

TONY DUMMERTH
Men's Ministry Director
Tony has been sober since 2015, which has led to a passion for caring for others and helping them live a life of recovery. He is a licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and has worked in treatment facilities and sober living environments since 2020. He is dedicated to using that experience, along with the transformative message of the gospel, to help men build a strong foundation for the new life Jesus has called them to live as children of God.
Tony and his wife have grown their family through the adoption of their son from foster care and the birth of their daughter. The story the Lord has written for their family has brought much humility and even more joy to their lives, and they are excited to see how the Lord will lead their young and growing family.
“He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
